New construction electrical rough in by Groce Electric in Lebanon, Tennessee

What new construction wiring covers

We take a building from bare studs to a finished, inspected electrical system. That means we plan the layout with you, set the service, run the rough in, and come back to trim out once the walls are closed.

  • Temporary power poles for the job site
  • Service entrance, meter base, and main panel
  • Full rough in wiring for outlets, switches, and fixtures
  • Dedicated circuits for HVAC, ranges, dryers, water heaters, and well pumps
  • Kitchen and bath circuits with the required GFCI and AFCI protection
  • Recessed lighting layout, can placement, and fixture boxes
  • Low voltage rough in for data, TV, and doorbell where you want it
  • Shop, garage, and detached building circuits
  • Generator and EV charger provisions if you plan to add them later
  • Trim out with devices, plates, fixtures, and panel labeling
  • Permits and inspection coordination

Built for builders

Builders keep calling us back for one reason. We hit our dates. When the framer finishes, we are ready to rough in. When drywall is done, we are ready to trim.

We also flag problems early. If a plan puts a panel somewhere it will cause trouble later, or a circuit count does not match how the space will get used, you hear about it before we pull wire, not after.

Our license, insurance, and bond are all current, so your paperwork is simple.

The stages of a new build

  1. Plan review and estimate

We look at the prints, count devices and circuits, and give you a free written estimate.

  2. Temporary power

We set a temp pole so the trades have power from the first day.

  3. Rough in

After framing and before insulation, we run all the wire, set boxes, and land the panel.

  4. Rough inspection

The inspector signs off, then drywall goes up.

  5. Trim out

Devices, plates, fixtures, and the panel schedule go in. We test everything.

  6. Final inspection and turnover

The system passes final, and you get a labeled panel and a walkthrough.

Common questions

How much does it cost to wire a new house in Tennessee?

Price depends on square footage, the number of circuits, the size of the service, and how many fixtures and specialty items are in the plan. A 1,500 square foot house and a 4,000 square foot house with a shop are very different jobs. We give free written estimates so you get a real number for your plan instead of a guess.

How long does new construction wiring take?

Rough in on a typical single family home takes a few days. Trim out takes a few more once drywall and paint are done. The gap between the two depends on the builder's schedule, not ours.

Do you set the temporary power pole?

Yes. We can set the temp pole and coordinate with the utility so the site has power early.

Can you wire a shop, barn, or detached garage?

Yes. We run feeders to detached buildings and wire them for lighting, outlets, and equipment circuits, including 240 volt tool circuits and welders.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. We pull the electrical permit and meet the inspector at rough and final.

Do you work in Wilson County and Nashville?

Yes. We are based in Lebanon and work throughout Wilson County, Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Watertown, Murfreesboro, Hartsville, and the rest of Middle Tennessee within about an hour of our shop.
